Ah. If his horse can make it over the PA border he can ride the rest of the way with me.
Never change horses mid-stream.

What I'll likely do is drive up on a Friday with my trailer, buy coal, stay the night in a motel and park the trailer. Then drive up to the Meet and Greet. I'd likely buy from UAE and ideally would park the trailer near there until the trip back to Maryland. Any suggestions are welcomed.

I should note the breakers are usually not open on Saturday in late spring and summer however if there is enough people and they knew in advance I'm sure someone would open.

I know I could get one to open if people were coming

Yanche there is a really nice country hotel right near this place but I'd imagine it's not cheap, cheaper places would be about 20/30 minutes and on the way to get to 81/turnpike. This cabin has a lot a sleeping quarters but that's getting ahead of myself as I need to find out if they rent it and if they allow overnight. The other option as I already mentioned is up the river but overnight accommodations get a little complicated especially if you want to sleep in a motel because it's right in the heart of the NG drilling area and those places have been booked for months in advance the last I heard.

Matt we're going to do this up near my area so unless you're thinking about Hudson everywhere else will be well out of the way no matter which way they are traveling. If they are coming from the north it's going to be a lot longer trip and if they are coming from the south that's a lot of extra road travel with a load of coal.

If people want to make different arrangements for elsewhere so be it but Hudson is going to be the closest place and that's assuming he'll open but like I said as long as there is enough people interested that shouldn't be a problem. Last I checked they were running weekend specials for about $160 or $165 picked up and they have always had a good product.

I can bring my trailer to sleep in or my trailer to carry black rocks but not both. I am flexible and parking 20-30 minutes away is not a big deal for a day long affair.

A motel that allows truckers is fine to park a black rock trailer at. I am not fussy as long as it is clean.

I would like to come but there is a lot of variables still at play for me.

Steamup that's why I wanted to get this going early so we could try and accommodate as many people as possible, we're just in the planning stages here so we'll see how it works out.

I'd really enjoy such a thing but like some others I'm from way to far away. Maine.

I just spoke with my wife and I haven't been to PA in a few years now. I wouldn't mind making a trip. I am setting up the Volvo 245 wagon for heavy towing so I would probably bring my trailer too. I would love to meet some guys from the forum! Any advantages for me to buy coal while I'm up? I can only do 1600lbs on the trailer .
Heck maybe I will source a glenwood to buy ;) or continue north to buy one. But if I'm coming Fred better be there

If I get enough people committed to it can't hurt to ask. ;)
