Harmony Mine

Is there any truth to the news that Harmony Mines in Mt. Carmel are closing? If so, when?

My friend got a 8 ton delivery today from his Dad's neighbor who delivered the coal to my area. I asked him where he got it and it was from Harmony and he said that the mine would be closing in four months due to work mans comp. and other escalating cost.

I called the mine this morning, and got the "friendly" lady on the phone. I asked her if they were going out of business and after a long pause, she said
"You'll have to talk to the bosses about that.... But it's a possibility. Who did you vote for?"
I responded "Not for the guy that's trying to shut you down!"
CoalCorp lady : "Good. Because he's doing a good job trying to shut us down"
Me : "I certainly hope that doesn't happpen. I'll be there on Saturday to buy a couple tons"
CoalCorp lady : "Thanks" *click*

This rumor is the worst possible notion a dedicated Harmony user could possibly hear,don't like it one little bit.It stinks on ice. Time to pump up the tires,check the maximum load rating on the trailer and get movin' . Mike
