What methods did you use for securing the probes to the stove and stove pipe. Pics would be great but not necessary, just a simple explanation of your set up would be helpful.

I used a 1/2 wide slice of fiberglass insulation centered on foil tape to insulate the probe to the pipe and furnace over the load door. Then I used magnets to help hold the foil tape down. Works great! My reason for insulating the probes is so that any stray air currents in the basement can't influence the temperature I'm trying to read, it acts as a blanket..

Disregard the snap switch mounted on the pipe, it runs my draft inducer...

Just to be clear, top to bottom is tape, insulation, probe, then pipe or furnace.
Make sure there is nothing between the probe and the pipe or furnace.

It is a start. Thanks for the suggestion. I am working on a project to monitor temp of my friends VF3000 to monitor temps for out fires.

Use probe #2 for the pipe (the bottom number on the remote monitor). #2 can have a high temp and low temp alarm. I set my low at 140 and my high at 280.

Use probe #1 for over the load door (the top number on the remote monitor). #1 only has a high temp alarm. I set it at 400 degrees.

Feel free with any questions..
