Connecticut Shooting

Just makes me wanna puke reading statements from Bloomberg and Mennino from Boston without regard for any facts. Right out of the gate "Automatic Weapons must be banned"...ok, that was done back in the 1930's. Worked out well right fellas?

The wacko used off the shelf Hanguns ( not an assault rifle) legally owned by his mother.
News is surfacing that he had a personality disorder ( possibly autistic) and in most likelyhood it was her ( I hate blaming a victim) who prolly should never have allowed him access to her weapons...and she paid with her life along with all the others.

He was allowed into the school becuause his mother worked there and he was known there. He was buzzed in through the security door becuase hey why not? we know him , he was then ready to hatch his evil plan.

Again, once the ball was rolling there was nothing and nobody in in that school to stop him, gun free zones are not all that they crack up to be.

Schools are the ultimate Soft target it happened in Dubane Scotland in 1996 when 16 children were killed and 1 adult before the shooter did himself...this also led to the Ban on Private ownership of Hanguns in the United Kingdom.

Oh man Grumpy, that was something special. To listen to the Expert on what the Media should NOT to do is chilling...and such common sense.

Unfortunately as we move away from God, who is the creator of life, it is inevitable that we get the opposite, which is death. This will arrive in many forms such as this.

So sad; I have a daughter in Kindergarten and that age is so innocent.

Sad, Sad, Sad...

One day, I went for an installation and arrived about 9 Am. There was a kid, about ??? 10 Y.O. He was playing a war game on the screen pc. Each time he killed someone he gots ""rewarded"" with points and other things, HE WAS BECOMING AN HERO, he was recongnized! When I left, about 5 PM, he was still killing and ""happy"".
When I see peoples saying that firearms should be banned, it makes me sick. Yes a good control, formation programs... can help but the problem is not the arms, it's the person holding the arm. No need to be a great psy to see that....Even if we could remove all firearms in America, we still have the same bad persons and they can use many other ways to kill.
Anyways, that is a very sad time for all ""humans"". And hope lot of courage for the peoples near those victims, especially during the present time.

Thank you and Ed, and all of you for taking the time to watch, I don't post much but when I do I like to make it count.. It is sad the media will beat this story to death to fill there air time. Then something else will happen and this will be just a memory. In a few days it will be back to the fiscal cliff.. or a sex scandal, or the next shooting.

I had to add this.. ain't this the truth..

I don't agree with Huck very often but this time I think he is right on for the most part. There still has to be much done in weeding out some that show early signs of being troubled, I have a in-law that has a nephew that wouldn't surprise me if he went that route but at least now the step dad & finally the mother realise the kid needs help.

A dad of one of the children killed grew up in this area. He (the dad) still has family that lives about a mile from us and there is a fund raiser going on here so the relatives here can fly back there for the funeral.
The effects of this tragedy are far reaching.

Agreed, I saw him today and it does make sense. My father always had a shotgun/ rifle (depending on the season) in his car when he was in High school in the 50's as did lot's of kids. Heck even as recent as 20yrs ago I know kids who were in the Skeet Club who had their guns in their cars ( although it was against school policy).

It's societal change...is this how Rome looked on the downward slide?

Good post. It's nice when communities come together to help a neighbor.
