when the constitution was written to include the right to bear arms, it is unlikely the gun technology available back then would make it possible for one or two jerks to kill dozens of people in a few seconds. possible the 2nd. amendment needs,,, amending.

Interesting that we did not hear that a legal gun owner with a Glock had the Oregon Mall Shooter in his sites.....

Should we be surprised ?

Too complicated at this point, e.g. you have posts involving gun control and the topic itself.

SMITTY wrote:My post friggin disappeared ....

Not sure what post you are referring too but nothing has been removed. PM me more details.

Sorry man - didn't mean to frig everything up! In reading thru the posts I guess I should've left well enough alone. Story of my life ...

The post that disappeared wasn't on your end - there was something screwy going on with the computer (not to get into a conspiracy rant ... but ... :gee:) that wouldn't allow me to post or edit anything until I closed the browser and waited. This morning, I tried to vote in a gun control poll on a local paper's website .. and the prior day's poll was showing ... until I logged out and cleared cookies - then it miraculously showed up. Makes you wonder who's watching out there .....

When the Constitution was written, private individuals were able to own ships with cannon.

Comparison of Navy vs. Privateers in Revolutionary War

Continental Navy Privateers
Total ships 64 1,697
Total guns on ships 1,242 14,872
Enemy ships captured 196 2,283
Ships captured by enemy ? 1,323

It's clear to me that YOU need amending. May I suggest a frontal lobotomy, for starters. Statements like that are BLATANT trolling. Nobody is that unreasonable ... or stupid. Give it a rest.
