Help with an old Kodiak Stoker II rebuild/refurb.

Hello all. Brand new to NEPA but I have to start somewhere. I just recently got "lucky" with an ad on CL. I got about two and a half ton of rice coal and two old stoves, a Shenandoah and a 1986 Kodiak Stoker Stove II. I got everything for a whopping total of $180. I figured it was worth trying to refurb the stoker and ordered new glass and all new gaskets. It will be a slow process and I am very new (haven't started) to burning coal. CoalIslander is an oxymoron since I don't burn coal yet and most of RI isn't an island at all, but I digress. Been searching through and found some great ideas on this very subject but I am wondering if I should just sell both stoves and put $ towards the purchase of a new stove or jump in with both feet and really learn. My disdain for foreign oil is at an all time high while my funds are not. Thoughts, Ideas, Alternatives would be greatly appreciated. And I apologize for being so long winded.

Secondly, anything you do here should be accompanied by pictures. We just love pictures !!!!

If you give a little info on your place you are trying to heat, that would help as well. Items such as square footage, insulation, layout, etc. helps a great deal.

As you know the Stoker II is a triburner. There are several modifications that can be done to make it more efficient, but I have mine still at the factory set up.
