Do you believe in the sanctity of life itself (and notice that this is not a religious question, but rather it is rooted in the principle of non-aggression)? Can one conclude that the sanctity of life itself (and therefore non-aggression) must be the foundational rock of morality and justice and values (yes, even teachable values) without the existence of ideological concepts? Do you practice and live by the principle of non-aggression? Do you think the murderer did so?

I'm sorry, my sympathies are with Lanza and his mother. The medical profession will insist on prescribing these potent antidepessants which screws up rational thought. I'ts outside the scope of this board to talk about serotonin reuptake save to say the FDA has a black box warning against prescribing these to under 18s (it's strongest warning other than pulling the drug). This cut off age is arbitrary and 20 year olds should be treated with care, we don't all develop at the same speed. Let's think a second:

I have enormous feelings of sorrow for the families and school security can't reasonably defend against this one and no gun control will not fix squat. Upgrading politicians will fix many things. I think that many the problem with mentally ill people doing things like this can be traced back to the late 1960's when many hospitals were closed and many seriously ill patients were released and left to the states to provide for them. States didn't think the patient care was a priority and cut funding for treatment. The amount of funding for mentally ill people has never recovered to adequately to find and identify the ones that need treatment.
