You guys have some good points but there is a definite disease of alzheimer's as well as a misdiagnosis, good doctors will look at everything. My sister was recently placed in a home & she has scleroderma which is often described as when the connective tissues we all have turn to stone but it's actually that they harden & inflame which in turn reduces blood supply to the brain & the systems are the same but unfortunately there is no cure & it's treated the same. My brother-in law took care of her for as longer than I thought he would be able but she no longer knew him & needed 24 hour help, naturally he is having a harder time with it than she. I lost a previous wife & I believe that (as hard as it is) is easier to deal with because both the physical & mental is gone but to be able to see a loved one that has zero knowledge of you has to be hard.
