LIGHTING LEISURE LINE STOVE

HELP! burning rice coal and having trouble starting fire. any ideas of easy method to start first fire of the year. The dealer went out of business and had starter bags. must be an easy way to get coal lite. tried torch, and even sawdust............ thanks in advance. email of ideas to birtja@myfairpoint.net

welcome to the forum....

here is a thread with about 18 pages of discussion on lighting a stoker. cowboy charcoal, can with kindling, charcoal soaked in lighter fluid, wood pellets, etc. block off the end of the grates, cover the air holes with whatever you are using to start it up, turn on the combustion blower and hit it with the propane torch. sprinkle rice coal over it when it catches pretty good and turn on the feed motor. you have the coaltrol so you probably have some settings to punch up to turn on the fan and feed motor. somebody will be along to tell you what they are shortly i am sure.
