I no longer have school age children either. I'm just stating the facts as I know. If Obummer wants to ban certain weapons then he and his family should not be protected with those weapons. He is no better than me or my family. Sam you think about this. When the ban starts where will it stop? Why would Feinstein and Schumer need a gun if I don't? Actually Sam, My choice of a killing weapon is a shotgun. It'll cut someone in half with the proper load. I have the "assault weapons" because of the Clinton ban. Never thought I'd need something like that until then. Never killed a thing with an "assault weapon" either. Now as for the shotgun anything from a rat to a deer.

Why me SB , I never said anything disputing any of that unless you think that my opinion about private sellers should have to get checks. It only costs a few bucks & it CYA, just add those few bucks to the price, deposit required & no refund if you don't qualify for a known reason. If anything on that link I think there are a lot more guns than people own up to but they can only go by their polls & stats.

Sam, my point is we already have laws and instead of adding new ones they need to enforce the existing ones. I think you know as well as I do that criminals will always have access to guns and new laws making it tougher on law abiding citizens is not going to curtail that. I agree something has to be done, like you commit a crime using a gun you hang. You see Sam, it's not the guns it's the people using them. People are the problem not the guns. I hope you understand that.

SB, show me anywhere in this whole conversation where I have ever said it was the fault of the gun. I agree there are plenty of non-enforced laws & that needs to be addressed but there were also loopholes put into laws(sound familiar) that should not be there IMO, as it's been stated a law should be a law for everybody. Just like the new post about a gun show protester, there is a gun show in Erie right now (great attendance) & also great disappointment, it seems most of the private sellers didn't show (the one's that can sell to anyone) & the legal sellers have all jacked up their once bargain prices because they can. Once this all settles down prices will come down as well until the next nut case or less violent fear comes along, either way the price never comes back all the way unless a bubble bursts.

So we agree that it's people not guns. That's good
So, would you also agree that we need to do something with the people that use guns to commit crimes? Like capital punishment? Again, Obummer can be thanked for the high prices due to him running his mouth. I now have some guns that doubled or even tripled in value thanks to him. I could make some serious money right now if I chose do do so. I'll just hang on to 'em though.

Ok SB, if I get this right just because Obama said he was forming a bi-partisan group to address the gun control issue it caused the price of guns to rise. Now if gun dealers had say 10 AR15s in their inventory that they normally sold for X it was Obama & not them that made them sell that same gun for Y instead to increase their (not Obama) $ to Z. That also could be applied to all the manufacturers of guns & ammo along the way except I don't think they will go up as much since they pretty much probably have to announce price increases ahead of time to keep their mass purchasers happy. Personally I would put the increase more to greed by fear.
