The NRA of today only cares about one thing & we all know what that is, how do you think all those executives make all of it? Give you a clue, "fear". It goes from having a bipartisan group sit down & hash out some sort of agreeable gun control to they want to take all our guns & ammo & completely erase the second amendment faster than breaking the sound barrier. I heard that the NRA was invited but declined, don't know for certain.

The only legal way to eliminate some to all of an existing Amendment is with a new Constitutional Amendment that supersedes it. Congress would have to pass an Amendment, and then 3/4 of the States Legislatures would subsequently need to ratify it. Given the current climate we are not all that far off from this with respect to the 2nd Amendment. One generation away from it at best is my guess here.

And just as you support and joined Unions to extort business, and justified it by calling business greedy and all sorts of things in the name of humanity, I chose to belong to only one organization, other then the Nat. Wild Turkey and Ducks Unlimited. I consider those last 2 putting my money where my mouth is as they are committed to conservation. The NRA is my union and it took most of my life to see it that way. I am not a lifelong member, just a life member now. If you want to play the game that way, fine. I have representation beyond being a hunter. Your representation drove jobs overseas and angered regular non union people with your lavish paychecks, health plans and retirements. How is the NRA going to anger people by standing in the way of the gun confiscation? They will only anger people that are on the fringe and believe we dont need "assault weapons" and outright socialist/communist that believe in evolving to a nanny state where the smarter(them) make these kinds of decisions for us.
There were people just like you in every country that went on to ban firearms. Nothing to see here folks, move along. Or the gov. isnt going to take your guns, be real. Or how about, Lets just be reasonable about gun control and get rid of just these ones? If I didn't point it out before, it reminds me of the character in the Lord of the Rings, Worm Tongue, who whispers lies into the King of Rhohans ear and poisons his mind. That is todays media and people like you in these forums, naysaying any and all alarms about gov. power.


I am with the groups that say NO "reasonable" controls. That is double speak for we will meet in the middle but We(you) will determine what the middle is.

Klook, have I ever said to ban firearms? Ducks Unlimited is great, we have a local weekend thing here every fall, big parade & all, one of the most attended in the country or so I've been told. You have no problem getting paid a high wage for the work you do, if it wasn't for unions I don't think you would be getting much. That part doesn't really belong here just commenting on your rant. We have a Gov. that was set up to protect our rights & we have groups that depend on the fear of having them taken away to make their 6 & 7 digit salaries, what kind of HC plan do you suppose they have? The tax incentives given to move jobs had nothing to do with anything I'm sure but this is all old news. Why not you tell me why we "need" assault weapons & huge clips, don't know about the whole country but can you use that for hunting? I stand by what I said in response to your anti NRA talk. I am not going to even entertain taking this thread into health care. The Union debates has been had and it was a deadheat as usual, I don't think modern unions do one iota for me, period.
We do not have a gov. set up to protect our rights. It was set up to ensure commerce within and protect us from OUTSIDE interests. The Constitution protects US from it. I need an "assault weapon" because I want one, don't need another reason. If I wanted one I would get the license and get a real one just to piss off people like you.

I didn't mention research? Games? I play one or two. I think whacking away on this keyboard shooting people is somewhat different then putting on the gear and gripping the real thing and sliding down the hall. In the game, you come back in so many seconds to fight again. EVERYONE including these nut jobs know in real life you don't respawn as they call it. That is why they go to schools, malls, etc. ect.
I am not ranting from fear, I will not give up my arms. Period. I fear being a legislated criminal. Funny how you Liberals want to legalize pot but take away my guns. You argue that we "create" criminals by making pot illegal. But it is ok to "make" me a criminal for owning a gun. I'll trade ya, I agree with legalizing pot anyways, I don't partake however, and you leave my guns alone. DEAL??
I chose to belong to the NRA, no one passed a law saying I had to pay dues did they? No one is calling anyone a scab for not joining are they? No one is going on strike to hurt an entity are they? I just ignore their pleas for more money if I choose. I get asked each year to vote on the leadership, I could care less, they are far more advanced then I at the game in Washington, just get after em boys. My point was you just don't like my union, tough luck.

Last time I checked, the 2nd Amendment does not mention hunting. Answer this. Why does law enforcement have these weapons? To protect me or themselves? I already know they can't protect me in a timely manner and also know the last time I called them they got lost coming to my house. They have GPS too. Damn good thing it wasn't a life or death situation. If it had been someone would have died. It's not wise to disarm law abiding citizens of any weapon they have. That's a bad move for our country.

Klook & SB, who the F has ever said they want to ban all guns (except maybe Bloomburg) who can afford armed guards. You don't even know what may or may not be proposed, it's not just about guns but also about who should be able to get them & how they get them. I have never said nor will I ever support banning all weapons, I own guns why would I, I have a CCL & I have also sold hundreds of weapons myself & each & everyone was sold legally.

Didn't realize that was a question directed at me, it's both. If one happened to be right there when a crime was being committed to you depending on the situation they might need it to protect both you & themselves or anyone else. Don't know what your looking for, I never said to disarm anyone, where I live we get covered by state police who if in the station are 30 miles away if on patrol most likely more. I guess the Park Rangers could also help but no telling where they are either, like I said I'm a gun owner as are most if not all my neighbors. You know yourself the chance of a cop being around when you need one is probably higher than winning a lottery.

If a crime is being committed to me, I am prepared to protect myself. Why shouldn't I have the same firepower available for my own protection. I believe I am more proficient with a gun than most law enforcement officers. I've seen them qualify with handguns. I know of one guy that is very good with a handgun. The others not so good at all. As far as long guns, I've never had the pleasure to see them qualify with them.

SB, once again I'll ask who ever said you couldn't legally carry? Unless there is a reason why you can't get a CCL or you live where you can't open carry then just maybe you shouldn't have one & that's the whole point of having controls.
