Thanks on the Jotul. Fire it up? I was just looking for a plant stand :D The refractory is seemingly cast in, its kind of built out or built up or melted or something; very hard so I'll see if I can grind it back flat on the surface. Not gonna take an air chisel to it. I was thinking of swapping out the Monticello, but now I think this old stove is gonna be too small. Glad I picked it up anyway. 5" flue outlet on the thing. I would like to find out the date of manufacture; no luck so far.

I missed some great stories- I was gonna implement a trick on the GMC that I heard of. You can wire in a diode on each headlight pair and get your low beams to come on with the high beams. Just run the high beam + to the low beam +. I still have the diodes, another idea I never got around to.

Years ago my girlfriend and I were both crazy and decided to move to Florida. We picked up a 64 Ford van that had seen better days. I was putting in speaker wires to the back. I remember watching one of those wires melt its insulation off from the front to the back of the van like a dynamite fuse :D Another time I was going down a street and saw a white convertible Fiat 124. The guy looked helpless, and he had the hood up; carb was on fire. I jumped out of the truck with an abc fire extinguisher and told him it would put white powder on the engine. I put the fire out hahahahha. The guy was obviously not familiar with Fiats, he seemed astonished at the malfunction hahahhahaha. I just drove away.

Hey Dan, that low beam trick is easy to do with some relays also...then you get the benefit of full battery voltage right to the light instead of through the switch.

Will the relay trick work on todays computerized overcomplicated trucks? Nothing will back feed and cause a computer meltdown?
