Good eye Rob. Your right, early model for sure. Gooseneck in good shape but it didn't want to separate from base. And I didn't force the issue. Thanks for heads up on clean out plate. I didn't notice any warping but will check it.Rob R. wrote:The air chamber in the first picture with the large fines cleanout and the old style gooseneck is an old one...early 50's? Make sure that cleanout plate is not warped.

Quick update on progress... It has stopped.
and new progress has begun. I was fortunate enough to land on a good deal for a boiler and coal. I bought a 1994 DF520. I'm very pleased with it. It wasn't perfect, needed a bath but nice for sure. Couple parts need to be replaced. One being the motor coupler. Was egg shaped at one end from not being secured properly on the gearbox side. But the stoker is done, other than coupler. Just gotta put it back together. I only took a couple pictures before removing it. This will go in place of my current 350.
Hey Rob. did you put the insulation board in the DF you setup? I need to buy some, I'm sure it will hold heat better than without it.

The insulation is to protect your base from being overheated, or burned out.

There should be pins sticking out in your base. The board is pressed on and square thin-gauge plates hold it fast. I don't know where you'd buy the insulation outside of efm, I'm sure it's out there. efm still supplies all that stuff.

*update*
My Dad had to make a couple of the panels, so a test fit was in order. He did great, all lined up.
I really like it, went together well. Keep changing my mind, but because I removed my oil tanks, I will probably keep this for myself and sell the DF.
Yeah, that's an old motor on the stoker. That is one I picked up on a 350, not sure if it is the original motor or not but is old for sure. It's an Emerson brand, cleaned up nice, real quiet and I like it.

Yes, have a new DHW coil to go in it. The DHW coil is awesome in my current setup, I will stay the same way and continue to burn year round.Rob R. wrote:It's a beauty.
Do you intend to install a tankless coil?
