Yeah forecast is for 10° wind chills for tomorrow - and there's a Pat's game too! Good luck to those folks! I wouldn't drive that far east anyway ... let alone sit in 10° wind chills. ;)

Total, complete, & utter mayhem on MA roadways this afternoon and evening!! Scanner's been screaming non-stop for the past 6 hours. People in the woods, wrapped around trees, sliding into ditches ... and still managing to work in a few B&E's , a drunken suicidal ride on the phone with the ex, & an a couple assault & battery's in between it all! Gotta love MA!!

Snow still ain't lettin' up yet. Yet again, our forecasters ROYALLY screwed this one up. At least up here, we're prepared for the worst, so the hell with the useless weather folks. I'm shocked we still have power! :o

The Focus took a poundin' today! Wifey got stuck in the driveway from the last storm, then tonight, she couldn't make the hill! Had to whip a 180° midway up and backtrack the long way home. At least she got here. Shoppin' for tires tomorrow, & maybe I'll think about getting the 4x4 working in the Blazer again. ;)

Hammer time here on the coast. Hard to say how much we got due to the blowing wind and drifts but I can say that my full sized ash cans are buried. Can't even see where they are. It' a good 4 footer drift up almost to my barn door with one small 10" channel right outside the door that looks like a mini grand canyon. :D Funny the sculpting the wind does.
I'm gonna guess that there is about 18" or so on top of the 10" from the other day. The wind is still howling and blowing up drifts so I'm in no hurry to get out there.

The good news is there a big ole pot of "sunday gravy" with joes's homemade sweet fennel sausages simmering on the Glenwood range. :D Prolly go linguni come dinner time and a big salad. House is toasty and there are a good 5 Blue Moon belgian wheats in the fridge and a few Stella's someone left. Life is good! ;)

Here's a couple of quick pix just through the windows.

1. Is the barn and garage out the window behind me
2. Front steps on porch (and a sculpted pyramid of giza!)
3. tater boxes in my parking area
4. Burning bush outside the library window front of house

Awesome truck Fred! Do's : push snow with truck. Don'ts : Run truck into crick. :D

About 3" snow here, windy now and about 28*. Town salt truck just went by.
Anthracite coal burning in the stove and keeping the place warm. If I attend to it the fire keeps going, if I don't, it either gets ashbound or all burns to ash.

Nice truck Fred if your winter is starting out like ours here in certain parts of Maine you sure will have a chance to put it to good use . We are getting hit again today, couldn't get out of driveway this morning to get to church which they ended up canceling anyways .

Here's a couple more pix while I was eat'in my way through the snow cutting paths. The wind is an excellent sculptor! It also turned me into Santa when it reversed into my face. The old 70"s Gilson is a tank of a blower though. It was under some of the drifts like a miner. Took me a good hour and some to "break out".

We ended up just shy of 9" of powder. Lots easier to clean up than that slop we got a few days ago.

At 8am I was high on the peak of my roof putting a new battery in the weatherstation .... Guess I have to change a capacitor - only got 8 months out of that last one. Always something ....

Ordered up a set of snows for the Focus too, so the wifey can make the hill next time around ...

Hey Dan - can you work your magic on my shed? ;) I might work some magic on it with a can of gas and a lighter ...

We got a few the other day, and then another heaping today. I went out in the woods just to scout around for some trees to cut and it was about 16 inches deep where the wind was not blowing, but everywhere else it is 0"-4 feet!

The wife snapped the first photo today as I was plowing out my Grandmother's Driveway, not that she will use it; she died on this day 4 years ago, but we plow it out anyway as I use her garage from time to time. The second one is just of an old harrow looking across one of the sheep pastures. Last year this was all trees so you can see why with 10 more acres of open land (60 acres of open land altogether) why the wind hits me so hard on this hill.
