He said he wanted a steam powered truck so here you go. Here's a steam powered pick up and a steam powered coal delivery truck. Yes, these things once existed.

I think it would be fun to drive up to a Sonic in a steam powered flat bed and get the extra large root beer float.

From what I heard Fred they are like an old time A&W, you park & order & they bring it out to your car. A friend of mine owns a couple but I've never been to one, in the summer they can ride roller skates if they want. Don't know if you can eat in or not but my wife's nephew seems to love them for some reason.

My wife's family used to make and sell steam powered cars called the Stanley Steamer. They actually have a museum up in Kingfield Maine about this family having once set the world record for highest speed to horsepower ration. I cannot remember the exact number but it was something like 127 mph with a 20 hp engine. That is impressive. I have been to the Museum twice now and it is pretty cool, though I am not really a car fan.

If I ever had the time or the money, my dream would be to rebuild a 1920's chain drive truck (and a Cletrack bulldozer) but that is the farmer coming out of me now. :D

We have a Sonic here in Morgantown Pa. Every Thursday night in the warm months a nice assortment of old rods and muscle cars fills up the parking lot.Sorta takes one back to the days when a guys ride was something different than a white appliance.Look at the opening scene in American Graffitti and you will get the idea. I think a steam truck chugging in there as if nothing was out of the ordinary would be a laugh and a half. If you really wanted to ham it up. Have a small boy dressed as a Dickens Era street urchin with a shovel. You could turn around and say, "quit your lollygagging! More coal boy and snap to it."

SWEEEEEEET! I would LOVE to roll through downtown Worcester in either one of those, preferably on earth day .... with a 5 ton load of coal in the back to boot! :woot:

Could throw some to the hippies out protesting in front of city hall!! MAN would that make a good time. The Good Lord could take me after that, for I have had done it all. :D :punk:

Sonic - man I haven't seen that place in 12 years! Used to see them all around Phoenix. Would head down there with the bike or the El Camino & try to pick up chicks. Try is the operative word. Those AZ ladies were frightened by this Masshole. toothy
