Since I have the blue flames finally dancing and I'm getting my confidence, I am getting curious. Can you cook mountain pies on a coal stove? I sat the irons on top of the stove and got it hot that way the other night but it took a while. Can you put the iron inside and set it on the flame? :?: If you can't, I'll just cook my wife's on the flame

Sure put your mountain pie into the coal stove if you enjoy the taste of .......... well it won't be good. Try this, put the mountain pie directly on the stove top and cover with a large invertted pot.
