If you're a Zeppelin Fan this is the must have album "How the West Was Won". These are live recordings from their pinnacle.... This version of "Bring it on Home" is easily my favorite recording of Zep bar none. I'm a sucker for harmonica.

They are indeed the "best band ever"! My first record album was Led Zeppelin 3. Still have it but no longer have a turntable on which to play it. Of course, I have it all on CD and mp3 but it would sure be nice to listen to the vinyl again.

Jimmy Page is simply one of the greatest guitarists in history, the sheer number of riffs, solo's and anthems he has could never be matched or fully appreciated by even the most die hard Zep fan, This man was truly a gift from the gods!

Why don't you just buy a new turntable?rubicondave33 wrote:They are indeed the "best band ever"! My first record album was Led Zeppelin 3. Still have it but no longer have a turntable on which to play it. Of course, I have it all on CD and mp3 but it would sure be nice to listen to the vinyl again.

Way back in high school, when I was bored, I would sit there and write the name of each album, up to In through the out door, and write the songs in order, vinyl of course. Sold all my albums years ago to buy cd's but I have been slowly collecting vinyl at yard sales and flea markets. Still have a direct drive few turntables. My Sony 5.1 receiver has phono inputs, there was only 1 model that had phono, don't know if you can find that today. I do have 1 album I never sold, it was a Yardbirds album with Jimmy Page, called "Live at the Anderson Theater". Supposedly rare, some songs are original versions what would later be Zep 1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_Yardbirds:_Fea ... Jimmy_Page
Try to collect vinyl without the upc barcodes on the back, that would be mid-70's? Usually means they are original releases. There are also some numbers stamped near the center of the record you can decode, will tell what pressings and things like that.

I'm sure some records are worth a few bucks but most are not. There were people trying to sell Michael Jackson records for big bucks after he died. There were millions of those records made, how many are left, who knows. Clay pigeon material. Some bootlegs might be worth it to collectors but some bootlegs are just that, unauthorized copies. I remember having a Rolling stones "Beautiful Delilah" bootleg that was studio material, you could hear them talking between songs, stopping in the middle of a song and then trying it again, was pretty cool. There are some I collect when I find them, RCA shaded dog, Living Stereo, mostly classical(which I have never listed to), some of these go for a few hundred dollars each. http://www.shadeddog.com/ Closest I have come to classical is Kashmir.

Depends on the album and condition.dcrane wrote:

If you're a fan of vinyl look into DVD audio or SACD but you might find those discs just as hard to find if not harder...
