koker hot air jacket

koker hot air jacket

PostBy: strez123 On: Sun Dec 30, 2012 9:20 pm

I am posting the pictures of the finished jacket I made for my koker 105. My unit sets in a small utility room and I needed to lower the temperature in that room . The jacket lowered the temp in the room by 15 degrees and raised the temp coming out the ducts by 17 degrees .

I'm with grumpy, that looks like a factory option. Good job!

i almost bought the 105. it was a new model when i went to the dealership. the dealer almost talked me into it when he said the single wall construction whould heat the wood floors above where the stove would be located in the basement. i went to the dealer anticipating buying the 160 model and thats what i did.

Yes if you have a large open area in your basement the radiant heat off this unit will have your floors toasty warm. In my case I didn't need that much radiant heat in that room its in. Before I installed the jacket the temp. coming off the front surface of the unit was 675 degrees and the sides were 435 degrees. Now with the jacket on I increased surface heat area to be sent into the duct work. The run time of the feeder is a lot shorter now to satisfy the thermostat upstairs in which I am using less coal. I wired the side draft motor into the fan limit so the both go on and off together. My temp. coming out the ducts before the jacket was 143 at full feed rate now it is 160 degrees .
