I thought this was a coal forum?

Unfortunately I don't have any screenshots Rockwood. I had them but somehow managed to lose them through the years.

Based on the archives.org I should be able to reconstruct most of them.

Greg's famous big coal fire at the lower right part of the screen with Anthracite in silhouetted letters across the screen.

I remember something like that vaguely but I don't have any copies of it.

--------edit: you're thinking of this one here?

What I remember was a lot bigger area of black background with "Anthracite" all the way across the screen with close up view of the coal fire you have in your avatar at the bottom right.

That's the best I can remember...I just remember it was cool :)

Edit: Yes that's pretty close.

That was one of those "oops I hit the wrong button on the editor... wait a minute, that's cool." LOL

There might have been a few slight variations on that theme.

Frequently you have seen less of some members, not because of their age, but because they are flat-assed sick of the 'trivial being exploited' all the time.

Opinions are just that, and we can choose to ignore those areas of conflict, or embrace them and 'spill' a couple 55 gallon drums of Whoop-ass, or let the helpless soles reinforce the notion that ignorance is bliss.....

The fact remains that Richard has created a VERY nice compilation of coal burning knowledge, and thousands of folks who can thank him and others. Google anything about coal....what pops up? A NEPA reference!

If you burn coal or want to,; if you are warm as a result; if your heating costs are manageable; then thank the fine folks who get dirty, take the risks, and were/are intelligent to make devices to capture this great heat resource that is NOT sitting under a sandy knoll inhabited by camels and those who enjoy 'special relationships with said animals!' :mad3: :mad2: :eek2: :bang:

Ever wonder what "The Village Idiot" does on his/her days off? Let me direct you to a 40 page 600 reply posts ....or another 50 posts of equal nonsense......

I usually keep logged on my phone or home comp so i can quick check active topics and such to stay current. With the chilly temps its all out war on keeping up with new active posts, which is a good thing. Not enough time to keep up. Such is life. :surrender:

I appreciated some of your responses, and since some are into name calling I guess I can put up with the jackasses too. However, I do like the forum for the great tips and wealth of knowlege from those who live with coal heat.

Most of the coal burners and jackasses or both are Conservative. If you are not be prepared to defend your view, just read what you like and ignore the rest. Just like I change the channel when my wife leaves it on ABC, CBS, or NBC. It is up to you whether to stir the pot or let it simmer.

Don't listen to him, sorry. But your getting a good start on establishing your political affiliations. :D

My political affiliations are no secret. I vote Democrat, I'm Union, I hate FOX propaganda network, run by Aussie Murdoch. I'm an American who doesn't really care if you don't like any of the things I just mentioned that are going to make you lable me a liberal or some other narrow minded title. There, hows that?

Beautiful, so your opinion counts for nothing to me. Why be so cryptic about it? Just jump in and make your usual Liberal points. But to whine about this being a coal forum proves what your really about. Now that your engaged, join in, the Libs need some reinforcements. ;)

Thanks for the links, Richard. It is interesting to see the progression of the forum. I remember the last major format change, at first it was difficult to navigate, now I can't even remember what the old format was like. I have visited other forums from time to time, NEPA Crossroads is by far the most easily navigated and well presented site around.
