Just picked this up. It's very rusty, was sitting outside for at least a year.

Very good. Nice sand-blasting project :). Can you tell me if there is a small ID metal plate on the stove's side? Quite rare to see that, well I think :o

Looks like a fun project, the grates are the style similar to Steve's Herald I believe that burns all the coal to a fine ash.

Is the barrel solid or will a new one need fabbed up ?

It looks a little shaky in a few spots on the bottom, but I think it can be used. Once I disassemble it I will be able to get a better idea as to the condition. I won't be working on it anytime soon, too many other projects going on. At least now it's out of the weather and dry.

Looks like the moving section of the grate might be broken, and I don't have the shaker handle. Any ideas?

Maybe try Woodsmans Parts with your measurements on hand, they have a lot of sizes, if not it may require a recast ?

You should have a nice little oak stove when that is done. I guess the signal is the finial. I wonder if it is a navel signal or emulates a railroad signal. Anyway, I think it is pretty neat.

That's a cool stove. I wonder if media blasting would work as well as sand blasting?

Hoping someone can help me with this acquisition. It appears to be missing the crown. Should I sandblast it clean? I plan on using it in my garage after my retirement. Is it worth anything? Here is a few pictures:
