I like the idea of educating the public . I think these guys might be lucky they are not in the morgue being mistaken for bad guys. *censored* idiots. If however they really wanted to educate the public, they might have set up a table with their weapons on display in front of the police station or somewhere so that they stood a chance of actually talking to someone.Maybe a sign or something, Clearly there was no good intent here. Mindless numbskulls.

The mindless numbskulls are the sheeple that know NOTHING about their Second Amendment rights! If they were shooting skyward, then I'd agree with you. But just walking around with them slung over their shoulders isn't any more harmful than sitting on the side of the road shouting NO BLOOD FOR OIL while carrying an effigy of G.W.Bush on fire.

I have posted before Smitty about arguing with retired vets and such about the legality of carrying open weapons. I went so far as to walk into the local coffee shop with a loaded 45 on my hip and waiting as I knew some cop would be in soon enough. Sure enough, one came in and they all thought I would be arrested. Instead, he asked why I was carrying, what kind it was, how did it shoot, and did I like it. They were dumbfounded. This is a group of people older then me by 20 to 30 years on average. I was about 50 at the time. It has been eliminated from society to casually carry a gun thru stigmatization. It has been going on for a very long time.

Not necessarily, people open carry here and most people don't even notice. It is becoming more popular every day.

I understand that they did nothing wrong but I have to agree that it was provocative and shows poor judgment at this place in time. If you are scaring people, you are not advancing your cause.

Why are you replying to me, did I post an opinion, no, I just said yesterday I post lots of things. That does not mean I subscribe to it. I stated I was just putting this out.

However I have no problem with what they did. Exercise your rights or lose them. If more people did it no one would notice after awhile and no one would be frightened.

Here people freaked out seeing a man with a gun when the open carry movement started, now there used to it and don't take notice.

But why are people scared? Because they have been told by the media and the gov. and anyone they listen to that guns are evil. And it was only 30 years ago we took them to school. That is the point of carrying them openly. If you hide them you are agreeing with the stigma about guns.

You tube 911 vid of the woman who shot an invader in Georgia. A hero for protecting herself and kids. Her husband as well for teaching her how. Can there be ANY better argument for gun ownership? There's a few really crazy SOB's out here doing some real crazy *censored* with guns--how is the general population that listen to all the media crap, supposed to know that you/ or someone else open carrying isn't one of them.
