I have been known to open carry from time to time but I prefer to carry concealed. It's a personal choice and I have no problem with anyone who chooses to open carry.

Just to make something clear--I don't HIDE my Glock. It is on my hip holstered. As for those that stereo-type--open carry is just giving them more ammo. Cops open carry, it's part of their job, not mine--if I'm ever in a situation that my drawing my weapon will help--I'm there--I would then lay it on the ground & wait till the powers that be got things straightened out & yes I've been in that situation--what would you do K?

Not sure what you are asking? Just because you carry open doesn't mean you are looking for trouble? What else could you do if you don't want the cops to put a bullet in you?-what would you do K?

And if you carry open then why even criticize me in the first place? You think no one but yourself has ever been in a pinch? Or can handle it? Sometimes you come across a little odd Fred.

I have no problem with this as well, Ive never had issue to open carry before (frankly, concealed carry is more problematic... if folks do happen to catch a glimpse it sometimes leads to inquiry). Either way its not appropriate around schools or kids or certain events and some common sense and respect would go along way toward peoples views or apprehensiveness on the subject. I still believe that weapons of "war" have no place in our society and a re-classification on "assault" weapons along with some reasonable limitations of them for "public use" is wise at this point. The two subjects of lic. to carry VS. assault weapon distinctions and limitations are two totally separate issues.SuperBeetle wrote:I have been known to open carry from time to time but I prefer to carry concealed. What seems odd is you always jumping to conclusions--I never stated that I carry open, very rarely my choice--a shirt or jacket/coat covers that Glock nicely. And for the life of me I don't see where I criticized YOU--we're talking about open carry, right?? not you.

I also agree that CC is the way to go. But many states have gone to open carry. And LEO's are a little divided but most say the would rather know who has one when the show up to a scene. How many crimes would be stopped if there were people walking around with a glock on their hip?

To me, in the small of my back, or my boot would constitute hiding--when I go in my pockets, I'm sure people can clearly see it--you know it's all semantics---I do not go around with just a t-shirt & jeans wearing it--some people get upset with that--again, it's just my choice
