The repeal of the Second Amendment, could it be done by ...

Ok, here is my solution. Do nothing. Thats right, NOTHING. There are millions of gun owning Americans and no single event or number of events over periods of time is worth changing the Constitution or denying people their right to defend themselves. Or just own a gun. You are more likely to be killed in a multitude of ways. Lets focus on hammers first and let me know when you solve that one and we will talk about guns. But please, by all means, bring a hammer to a gunfight.

Flyer5's article is really kinda on the money here. Thats exactly why we have a second amendment, and the fact is that the national guard is supposed to be our "well regulated malita". Thats why I dont feel the need to own an assault weapon , when the poop hits the fan Im heading for the armory. Too,from where we sit right now if we had to go to war with our govt. I think there would be mass defections from the other side, everyone's pissed at Washington. Meantime though everybody needs to put on their thinking cap

Food for thought. When Obama took office in 2008 there where 149 militia groups in the US. At last count, in March of 2012 there was over 1274 groups that were known to exist. If the 2nd was repealed does the number decrease or increase?

What armory? It won't exist anymore. If you don't have you won't get. That's very obvious if the SHTF. 3 months ago I would have laughed this off. after our VPs comments yesterday, and them speaking of stamping Trillion dollar coins with unlimited spending all done by EO. I am seriously worried about the direction of our govt.

When the *censored* really does hit the fan, there will be no police protection, no armory, no where for the sheep to run and hide. The police? They are going to be home, protecting their OWN families. There will be no law or order. There are not enough police or military personel to enforce the laws when entire cities blow up. Remember what happened in the LA riots? Yeah, that wasn't even a quarter of the population. Imagine the whole city erupting. The cops would run to protect their own, and if you are waiting for the government to help, keep waiting. Imagine millions of hungry, pissed off citizens. No police or military force will stop it, unless our government is prepared to commit genocide...I dont think they are. Now imgaine the other rising super powers in the world foaming at the mouth, watching it unfold, waiting for their moment to strike. Our military will be so busy fighting it's own citizens it wont even notice China, Russia, or any other country sneaking in the back door...

The police did it in LA. People will do what they need to do to survive, that includes those sworn to protect the innocent.

I am far more of a patriot that you will ever be. Far more. Against our country? Show me where I ever spoke out negatively against our country? Please point it out to me.

The facts are the facts, and any police officer or military man is not going to rise to the calling and leave his wife and kids home alone, wondering if it is his own neighborhood that is collapsing. No, he is going to be home taking care of his own.

As for the slap at my Patriotism your welcome to your opinion but you don't know me nor I you but I don't go around saying that I am far greater than anyone. If the SHTF I doubt if I will see much of anyone, I'll stay put don't like traffic so I'll be no where near the borders.

Ah, the old "can't happen here" scenario.

I'm sure they said in Germany and Russia among pretty much every country on earth.

I bet the Indians thought all those treaty's were worth the paper they were printed on too.

The Japanese were probably lucky they only got put in concentration camps.

I just don't see any of that gloom and doom happening anyway. I don't see mass chaos in the streets happening over some changes like universal background checks and high capacity magazines or even assault weapons banned if it comes to that. We've been there and done that. There was no riots. There can be no large changes with out Congressional vote. Executive order only goes so far. If the second amendment is "amended" again then so be it. It was an amendment in the first place.

RWalker I would be willing to bet that you were never in the military. Not the military I was a part of. We were trained to follow orders. We were not trained to think about whether or not it impacted us, our family's or any other personal position. We were trained not to interpret them in any way, shape, or form period. It's pretty naive to think that the military wouldn't act if called on to do so.
