ok im apparently a dope. let me preface this by saying i don't own a coal poker. anyway i was using the coal shovel to break up the bridgeing and bad ash deposit in the back of the stove that was clogging up the grate and leading to a terrible half burn. when i pulled the shovel out it was glowing bright red and folded perfectly in half back on itself. (hmmmm maybe if i hammer it and keep repeating the process i can make a folded steel shovel like they do with the japanese katana swords)
