Correct Richard, that's why they are drilling them rather than not, once drilled & capped it changes most everything in most leases some are based on actual production instead of potential but there are some as well that pay a set amount for a certain period drilled or not. I've got friends that have I believe three that are making out like bandits, steady income + free gas while their neighbors got a royal screwing from the same outfit. They did however have to have my son put in a super long gas line at their expense, if it wasn't for his ditchwitch & being a good friend they probably wouldn't have the gas, one of those things they tell you but forget to mention it's your dime that has to provide it. Some of those outfits treat people pretty good & others not so, now that politics have become so involved the little property owner is getting the short end.
