You are looking at bitter cold wether, I hope its better by now.
Ha even the godin manual is right with there advice.
Look at the posts here on the board, when people have questions over "not enough Heat",
The answer is throw in the coal, as high as possible, and keep the control bit low.
Even the french know.
BTW, how did it turn out, did you have enough heat?
Peter.

Peter.
The Arctic air mass settled in, and deeply penetrated the old house. No room was comfortable. ( We are in far north eastern NY near the Canadian border.) Temps outside were -25 F. There was no chance of heating the entire home comfortably.
The good news is that the weather is going to be fair single digits for lows through out the week.
During the deep cold snap, I loaded the Godins, the larger was kicking heat at 750 F on the side, with a stove pipe temp of 200F, and that was not enough heat! But now back to normal, the two stoves will comfortably heat the home. If I was located say in southern NY, PA, etc. these units would always produce all the heat needed....

I like the large oval, I allmost bought one new.
But then I found the bituminous coal I now use and the Godin doesn't like bituminous.
The antracite is quite expensive here.
Firebug had a lead for me for a coal dealer in Germany who is 230Km away.
Next year I try that, but for now I like my Weso with the bituminous coal.
Peter.
