coalkirk wrote:Squirrels are rodents. Their teeth constantly grow and must be worn down so they chew. You should see the damage they can do when they find their way into a home or attic. I've seen a vacant home where one got in through the firepalce chimney. They freak out trying to escape. This little guy chewed every piece of window sill, baseboard, door casing and cabinet in the house.
any thoughts on how i can eradicate them without getting 10,000 birdshot holes through my shed LOLONEDOLLAR wrote: drown the little bugger in a barrel of water.
I did see a video about some guys that put bait on a trap thrower and flung the poor critter WAY out in the woods. Probably on youtube, called squirrel-a-pult.ONEDOLLAR wrote:Doug
Live traps work very well. Once you catch one you then drown the little bugger in a barrel of water. I found a peanut butter and Ritz cracker mix works pretty well. Though South Shore squirrels may like something differant than North Shore squirrels.
If you need a live trap I am happy to loan you one. If the thought of drowning the little buggers bothers you, your next best bet is a 12 gauge.
