Democracy rests upon the principle that collective wisdom arises from a pool of individual ignorance. A Republic rests squarely upon objective law, and fundamentally upon those laws which restrict the scope and actions of government. So that ignorant individuals are not restricted by the actions of government from inflicting their collective wisdom on the Democrats.

Yes, Mencken was the inspiration for first half of the slogan that is my tag line. Mencken is a mentor to me, but I believe that in this instance I have improved upon his brash delivery. The second half is pure me. It is the basis for and purpose of our Constitution.
