In honer of MLK day im not going to post the words of his speeches now entrenched forever into the fabric of our history "I have a dream", "Ive seen the promise land", etc... but rather im going to post a clip of King that shows some insight into his incredible wisdom and unbelievable foresight which we can now look back on to know just how accurate he was... lets here all his words, not just the ending we all know "free at last, free at last, thank god almighty we are free at last" listen to it all!!!

"...that my four little children will live in a world where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character..."

That's my favorite quote from him (typed it from memory so forgive me if I didn't word it exactly right).

I dont know how any 25 year old man could have been so far beyond and above without god himself giving the purpose and ability... but here's a quote not shown often...

"The hope of a secure and livable world lies with nonconfomists dedicated to justice, In any cause that concerns the progress of mankind, put your faith in the nonconformist"

Maybe King was a fan of Mark Twain? :)

"Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect."

King, Gandhi, and Tolstoy all stated that they were influenced by Thoreau's essay on civil disobedience yet how many read it today.

My favorite story is when Emerson visited Thoreau in jail for not paying his taxes because he felt they were supporting slavery. "What are you doing in there Henry?" asked Emerson. Thoreau replied, "what are you doing out there Ralph?"

There is nothing in the world like a persuasive speech to fuddle the mental apparatus and upset the convictions and debauch the emotions of an audience not practiced in the tricks and delusions of oratory.
