Anyone planning to attend the annual Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show in Harrisburg next month for the chance to rub elbows with hunting celebrities like Lee and Tiffany Lakoski, or Ralph and Vicki Cianciarulo, may need to rethink those plans.

As of Monday, the two celebrity hunting couples, along with major sponsor Cabela's and dozens of other vendors, have pulled their appearances from the largest consumer-related outdoors show in North America due to a new policy by the show's organizer.

Reed Exhibitions of the United Kingdom announced last week that because of the "current climate that may attract negative attention," it won't allow the display or sale of assault or assault-style weapons and large-capacity ammunition clips at the Feb. 2-10 show at the State Farm Show Arena.

There is list of more than a hundred companies/celebrities that have already pulled out here:

They will just turn it into a hikers/trekkers type show, for all kinds of "non consumptive" users. Sort of like what LL Bean became. ;)

And the polarization of the country continues. The Prez must be giddy. Along with his like minded friends. They may be able to create the strife that Occupy could not. Be careful what we wish for.

they're branch office for the Americas is in Connecticut
1-203-840-4800
... I actually called them looking for answers...
and I suggest everybody on the site should too
first of all I have no idea why some event planner based out of the United Kingdom has any say in a sport show as far as policy.
for what its worth... after being hung up on the first call...
they could not tell me whether or not any vendors have pulled!
... what a crock of *censored*
.. secondly I was told to go to the shows website.

" will there be a list of vendors on the website I ask the girl"
... probably not she said!!
I I think everybody should call them... but be patient... as they are experiencing heavy call volume is at the moment!!! lol!
... thank God Cabelas it's a 20 minute drive for me!!

Add Ruger and S&W to the list...

I'd don't pay attention to these shows but from what I'm reading it's one of the largest in the country.

I've been going the past couple yrs. It was a pretty good show ,guess not this year. Glad the vendors are taking a stand. Supposedly a lot of them are setting up a virtual browsing website. Haven't seen if they have yet.
