Lets Talk Numbers

The last 24 hrs. was cold to say the least , never got above zero and minus 12 for a low but wind chills reached below minus 30 . I load up every morning around 7am and it took 70 lbs. . Like Isayre my Jan. consumption will be around 1750 lbs. , I hit 2 ton on Jan. 20 with a start up on Oct. 9 . I am very happy with the 110 performance .

Around 2 here this am plus the wind. Barn/shop area steady at 68- stove temp 550- no clue what I am burning only that
it burned half a bin over night- 50lbs maybe. No oil or gas, coal only heat source, it's working great, and it is cheap. Life is
good Aside from being really warm, the next bonus of coal is not thinking about cost. On oil, I used to obsess over usage,
supply etc. Now I do not even think about it- I've been set free!

About as free as we can be in MA.



Hit -4° last night for the low early in the morning. Cranked the Harman to 3 turns out yesterday afternoon around 15:00, fire was burning good by 16:00. Side at one point was 750° and rising. Pipe 300° right at the stove outlet. My drafty house got up to 63°. That load has been burning for 18 hours now, so it's starting to taper downward. House has dropped to 60° while the outdoor temp has hit 10°. Usually burn about 60-65 lbs.a day (est.). Today will be double that.

60 lbs Keystoker 90, Basement Coal-trol set at 74 Hold because of cold temps, upstairs 69 right now, 67 this A.M. -5 last nite 7 right now. Garage is 62. 2250 sq ft, including basement, garage another 330. I guess 33750 BTU's per hour averaged, 24 hours. A little more coal than I would of thought.

I am using about 200# of coal every 24 hours during this cold period compared to the 120# during the warmer weather. I feel I am burning more coal than many others but still very happy that I am not using oil.
