The 2nd Amendment and Obama

Okay, I suppose it's time for me to let everyone know, I was raised as a Democrat. My father is a diehard and votes a straight democratic ticket all the time. Growing up I didn't understand or even care. I started caring when I was 20 or so and was starting my family. I started to listen to politicians and reading about politics. What I discovered was that I was not a liberal but in fact I was a conservative. Dad hates Nixon with a passion. Even though he's dead and gone I still hear about Nixon all the time. Dad hates Reagan as well. He loves Clinton and Obama. Why? because they are democrats. I found myself voting for republicans mostly during elections because they seemed more my style. I'll be honest here and say I have never voted a straight ticket. I have certain fears regarding our government and have had those fears for a long time. I'm not a fanatic but I will stand up for my rights when they are being encroached upon. I will not bow down to the government when they try to make a mockery of the Constitution of the United States. I did some time in the National Guard and was a member of the 108th field artillery. I was a mechanic first then a forward observer. I joined when I was a junior in high school in the early 1980's. I love this country of ours and that's a fact.

I know exactly where you are coming from, and can relate to that very well.

The president is a hypocrite no doubt about that. He says one thing and then does another for himself and family. Why should I pay for his protection when he is making threats regarding mine? As far as being retired, I get tired of hearing about this "fixed income". I am bringing home less and paying more while working more so I am on a "losing" income then. I know more about you and Sam than you think I do You can disagree with me all you want, that's not a problem and I wouldn't expect anything less. Your right this is America and we do have rights......................at least for now.

That's fine that you were not talking to me but you posted on a thread that is open to all of us. I didn't see anything saying SB and Sam only. That's a PM is for.

I did post on a thread that's open to all of us and wasn't surprised to see you get involved. Like I said you have the right to do that.
