OK, the door has been welded. it now has warped and wont close at all. Typical Maine, "good enough." Nice Stove For Sale

can welding be undone?

Emery was right, spray paint does not a restorer make! Can welding be undone?

I would think undone would be a mess. How far out of flat is it? Lay the door on a flat surface in such a way that the latch does not interfere and sight along the edges to see how far out it is. If it is out by 1/8 inch or less it might be correctable by removing metal from the tight or high spots.

Also by not installing the hinge pin will the door lay flat against the proper bearing surfaces. If it does then maybe the hinge pin holes can be altered to work.

Just a quick comment,not trying to rub salt in a wound but one of the toughest lessons i have learned in life is there are no real deals and generally you get what you pay for,i know, small solace but true,hey i'm nearly 65 and still have to keep repeating it to myself. Regards mills4135
