I know he did nothing wrong but, he's not helping your cause by scaring people inside a grocery store. A little common sense goes a longggggg way.

Now you will all be complaining because signs will be posted on all the stores "no Guns Allowed" & you'll be blaming someone else. Boo Hoo, they took my rights away, you call him a bad ass, I call him a dumb ass.

The media and the politicians have people scared. He was already guilty because the media and governemnt said he is.

You might not have felt he was such a badass if your wife and child had been in the store and were frightened.

It was a thoroughly stupid thing to do and he was lucky he did not get shot by someone equally stupid.

He's also lucky that some good citizen with a gun didn't mistake him for a bad citizen with a gun, feel threatened & open fire.

That's the kind of guy the gun lobby does NOT want representing them. A good example of why some people should not have guns. It's called judgement and common sense.

I'll play the devils advocate here, firstly it's not really a right if you don't exercise it is it?

Secondly if more guns were present in the public they would be more comfortable with them. After the flood the one neighbor was open carrying for a while. Didn't faze me but I know many of the people living there were probably a little nervous about it. I'm sure they got over it after a day or two.

I think taking it into a grocery store was the problem. There is no "good" reason to do that and plenty of really bad ones.

This situation right here highlights how spoiled we are as a society. People freak out at the very sight of something that allowed the creation of America in the first place. Sad, really.

That said, I have to agree with Steve on this one. Doing that isn't going to help us - it just gives the media fuel. People who are already scared of guns to begin with are just going to agree with the media that he's "a crazy gun nut" . The note in his pocket tells me either he was VERY dedicated to the cause and expected to give his life for it, or, he was secretly suicidal & figured he'd try and help the cause on his way out. Glad it turned out good for him. Up here he probably would've been shot, because even the police would freak out in these parts. I respect the guy for trying, but we have to be smart and beat these leftists at their own game. For starters, we need a new media ...

Thankfully, Glenn Beck started one last year. Hopefully it continues to grow by leaps and bounds as it has over this past year. People are sick & tired of being lied & pandered to.

If someone walked into one of our 3 local stores w/ an AR15 ( a gun shop, no problem)--somebody woulda been on him like flies on a *censored* stick---this cause does NOT need *censored* like that & there's way to many like him out there IOF, if you think that took balls & he was a bad-ass--my suggestion to you would be--you don't need a gun

I have to agree it was a stupid thing to do and it could have lead to a really bad outcome.

Hey, I am all for guns and the 2nd but, this guy has the right idea but the WRONG application. This is the guy that needs a psych eval. Death by Cop is nothing new.
