Winter picture for nepacrossroads.com instead of summer

PostBy: Frackstoker On: Fri Feb 01, 2013 4:08 pm

Why isn't the picture that's being used at the top of the website changed to a nice blizzard scene or something winter? I hate to bring up something trivial, but knowing it's cold as hell outside and thinking coal stoves, it just seems appropriate. :smoke:

If I wanna see white *censored* I'll look out the window! Seen enough of that crap - it's nice to see some summer shots. I forget what it's like! :D

I've though of this before but what I really need is the same image from 4 different seasons. :) Perhaps I'll take a trip when it snows again so I have it for next year but getting it when the river is that low is problematic this time of the year.

That picture was taken by my ex GF, funny story with this picture is we were slowly motoring up along the shore along the right. A bald eagle flew out of the trees and couldn't have been more that 30 or 40 feet away. She started fumbling around for her camera and by the time she had it the eagle was too far away. She missed both the shot and the sight, she was pissed off. I've seen a lot of eagles on the river but that one was right there, it was a magnificent sight.

This is the Susquehanna River about 2 miles up river from Meshoppen. To the left is actually an island, it's pretty wide in this section o the other side of the Isalnd which is typical around an island. It narrows to a really long stretch for about 1 mile which is called Mayo or Myo beach depending on what map you're looking at. My Uncle has a place there. Dave from leisure line parents have a house there too.

I dunno, the picture Richard has as the banner kinda makes me yearn for the warmer months ahead....comforting if you get my drift.

That might be an idea for the coal forums, you have to the right perspective though. Here's the full image:

We don't talk but there's no animosity either, I asked her permission and that's the truth .
