I'd say I'm about 80%

I do still burn some wood, both in the stove and fireplace. Fall and spring, I often only need a little kick now and then on a cold evening. Easy and cheaper to burn some wood. I'll also let the heat pump run a bit then.

It makes more sense during these times, I would be wasting coal just to get it to idle. Plus I like the smell of a wood fire in the fall! And other than my labor, wood is free.

Currently heating the house with an econo1 from LL. DHW comes from the oil boiler which has the temp dialed WAY down till we need it. Currently installing a Bucket a Day coal hot water heater. I'll post pics when it's done then I will be 100% coal. A stoker to heat the house and the Bucket a Day to heat the water. Workin on it!!

It's been a transition for me since the coal went on line in 2008. The first two summers I heated DHW with oil. Then I ran the coal all summer, then a combination. This last year I bought a hybrid electric water heater so no more oil, hopefully forever, but oil is close to ready if there's an emergency.
