Squirrels? Most of the folks around here get 'em with their cars.

It has the advantage of being legal within 100 yards of a dwelling...

I hear blind squirrels are dangerous. So dangerous in fact tgat a Barret is the only gun effective enough to take them out.

Taking out 22s? Now you have my attention! Boy Scouts and 4-H clubs will be up in "arms"! The knee jerk paranoia will settle, and then we will see what if anything happens. I suspect when the smoke clears, you will see some clip restrictions, and enforcement of existing laws, maybe a federal one that makes the rules the same in all 50 states, making enforcement logistically possible. As a side note, the 22 round
kills more people here in the states than any other-both intended and accidental. That stat may have changed with the growing popularity of larger rounds.

No way! It's just a squirrel gun! There's a nice on-line video of a guy with extra magazines getting off 100 rounds in less than a minute, but he didn't seem to be hitting much so that proves how safe it is. And kill people? Even with those cute hollow point bullets, you could hardly even tickle a person, let alone hurt him.

It's true, check it out. I suspect that there are just tons of them around, hence the stat. Up close and personal, the 22 is lethal.
Baddest round I have shot is the 22 Magnum/Hornet-thing is a laser to the target, impressive trajectory, almost straight line at
100 yards.

The problem is as a practical matter this gun would be banned based on the way it looks.

I know aguy that got a nice sized deer with a .22 once from about 25 yds. Dropped it dead where it was standing, just about right into the ear.

Exactly right Richard. This is how DUMB all these proposed laws are. Based 100% on emotion and 0% on facts.

By their standards, I made my shotgun an "assault" rifle, just by bolting on 2 cosmetic features that have ZERO bearing on the gun's function. DUMB to the Nth degree ....

Says who? That is an OPINION in the linked-to piece, but where other than that opinion do you find that its appearance is the issue?
The main argument here seems to be that a .22LR is less dangerous than some other cartridges. That's very true -- and a hand grenade is less dangerous than a tub of TNT, so what? Either one will take you out.

If one's position is that NO guns are to be restricted, why raise the question of comparative danger, except to confuse fuzzy thinkers?
