Hi,

My wife and I bought a house this year that came with a Meredith coal stove made by the Penn Stove company of Lewiston PA. I do not have the maual but would greatly appreciate any direction to one. I painted it and put new gaskets and stove pipe in it this summer. Our property also came with a lots of nut size coal. I've been able to get a coal fire started but it only seems to last a few hours before going out. I've tried what seems like every possible combination with the damper and air intake. It seems to have good draft although I don't know how to get an exact measure on it. I get about a 6 inch bed of coals buring and try to throttle it down but it seems to be either burning full out or going out. I'm wondering it the coal I'm using is too small and I should be using nugget size instead. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much :)
