Anybody got any thoughts on that one? Fantastic resolution and Jellybean (like I know anything about Android OSs -not). HDMI connection. Is this a great device without a use?

Regardless of resolution it still is a 10 inch screen

But has an HDMI port. Looked at a Mac that had 2500x1600 and it looked incredible. Still wondering.

Just picked up a Nexus 7 32g for the wife's birthday. Reading the reviews the people love them. The 7 doesn't have hdmi, only a micro usb. We do have a few older Android tablets, generic we got from China and they have hdmi, full usb and micro sd cardslot. Do some reading on them if you never had them before, many forums for tablets out there. I wouldn't say great device without a use. I bring mine out in the garage instead of the laptop, can web browse, check email, lookup sparkplugs etc.etc.

Before I bought my 3rd gen iPad I bought two cheap tablets to see how I would like having one. Both were Android based and not so usable, largely because it was cheap hardware, not the OS. Not really a replacement for a netbook. But it was useful enough to commit to a big bucks tablet. My iPad retina display is what makes it so useful. The resolution does matter, more is better.

Also when comparing tablets consider the display aspect ratio. Consider what you are going to be looking at most of the time and buy that aspect ratio in the highest resolution you can afford. With my iPad I can read the entire page of a full size newspaper without scrolling. That's my test for usefulness. I hate having to scroll all the time, especially on a tablet.

Bottom line is a tablet is another product category. It's not a replacement for a laptop, netbook or desktop. I find my tablet has significantly changed the way and how often I access the Internet for surfing and e-mail. I have it with me almost always.

A very useful accessory for all Wi-Fi enabled devices is "Airstash". It's a USB connected device that's also a battery powered hot spot. Stores data on removable memory camera cards. Easy to transfer data between devices. Highly recommended. Solves the problem of not enough memory in your tablet or netbook.

OK so let's think this through. I agree about the new IPad (3) that my wife lives with (not the newest and greatest), the retina display is awesome. Now a Nexus 10 (2500x1600) HDMI linked to an Apple Cinema 30" or the Dell monitor would play awesome video if only linked to an Airstash 2. Now if only I could find a larger monitor with this res., or even better a projector and of course useful content other than my grandchild drooling we would have our killer app.

I'm breakin' out the piggy bank to see how much is there. Must be at least $40, do you think I have a shot at it? Prices not released yet.
