wil-burt timer

Does anyone know how to test a wil-burt timer on df520. The whole rig is new but I have no way of knowing if the timer is actually working.

If the timer is wired properly, your stoker motor should start up for 3 minutes every half hour. In the Winter you don't need the timer, but in the Summer, you will. In every cycle, 120 Volts will travel from the timer's #4 terminal to ZR on the triple aquastat.

Thanks for you input stoker-man. I always have 120v across #2 and #4 no matter what. When should there not be power going #4?

Check your wiring. 120V source voltage to #1, source neutral to #2, #3 is a jumper from #1 and has the same voltage as #1, and #4 goes to ZR of the aquastat.

That's the way it's in there. I think the switch is permenently closed for some reason since there is always power to #4

There is a microswitch in there with a 1 inch spring steel arm that rides on the round wheel. When it hits the notch it makes or breaks. See if the arm is broken off or the contacts are frozen together. It is a replaceable part.
