My Buddy Charlie's invention....
1: Put bag on step & slit open.

3:Keep cranking, bag starts to lean into hopper.
4: Less than two revolutions & the bag flops perfectly upside down dumping into the hopper. Reach up, remove empty bag. Repeat:

The AHS boilers with square hoppers are lower overall than the older ones with the round hoppers. Mine is 60", and the latest ones are 59". I don't know how tall the older round hopper S130 models are.

Yaaa, the new square hoppers are quite a bit less tall then the round ones. Charlie built a set of stairs years ago.....it got tiring to carry the bags up them! Now, zip & up they go!

About how tall is Charlie? He seems to nearly as tall as the hopper is high. Perhaps the hopper has 2 inches on him.
Off topic, but does that hopper have a lid or is it always open?

I'm 5-10 & have a good 4 or 5 inches on Charlie.lsayre wrote:About how tall is Charlie?

Yes, the hopper has a steel lid with gasket & it is always on except when filling.
I've seen him fill it before his invention. His stairway is (was) two steps. I'll measure his hopper height next time I'm there. I know one thing though, you do NOT fill it without a step or two up. If memory serves me right (but it seldom does LOL) the new hopper style is 10 inches shorter than the old style.
