I'm out of the loop. What does UAE stand for?
It's the name of the coal mine and breaker. Listed as "UAE Coalcorp Associates" PO Box 306, Mount Carmel, PA in the US DoE coal mining companies database.

You can only get 1 ton at a time? I wanted to make a trip from RI to the UAE Harmony mine but not for 1 ton.

Matthaus wrote:Welcome to the forum, :) If you travel a little further than the exit for UAE you can get some good deep mined coal at Superior in Hegins (exit 112 or 107 depending on how you get there). I burned a couple of tons of Agel last year, is strip mined and about 20 to 25% ash you will be emptying your ash 4 to 5 times more often than UAE! :x

Our resident coal breaker and beer guide (AKA coal berner) showed me where Superior is and I have burned it for a week now, burns a little hotter than UAE and has a 12 to 15% ash so is a good alternative. ;)
Superior coal is Runnig RIGHT Now at 10 to 14 % Ash content They test it weekly it should be at 8 to 10% that is there normal range they are in a the begining of a new vein of coal that is why it is running high it will change once they get in deeper you would take the 112exit for superior if you like going down and up big hills the 107 exit is less /smaller hills Plus Summit Anthracite is 2 miles from the exit Mr Matthaus lets keep the facts straight remember who is the newbie here about Deep mine coal you also forgot who showed you where UAE was There Ash content is running between 6 to 7% :P

yea petes old place......he's still going strong, 78 yrs old......trying to convince him to let me look at his efm boiler.....we took his ash out and spread it for him and it's half coal....he swears by blaschak in ravine.... and he's burning rice....we burn buckwheat and it's mostly powder.....i fix his used cars too, let me know if you see anything in front of his place, i'll give you the lowdown on it.......i'll get the name of the breaker over there near treverton soon.......my gf knows exactly where it is, last yr she was bringing me loads of rice coal in her ranger.........last yr it was 110 a ton picked up......seems to burn decent in her moms alaska.....gettin better mileage out of the buckwheat tho.......have to try around........hell if I open up the old coal road in the woods I could be to earls breaker in a couple hundred feet......stop by sometime, would love to meet u
