As you can see they both produce the same amount of BTU/h. Electric heat no matter what the source is always going to be exactly the same rate.
Indeed a wood stove is nice, however, not everyone has one or can have one... and wood stoves aren't necessarily cheap as wood costs money too.
Wood is less than half the cost of electric using some average costs.
