Wanted - Upper and Lower Hopper for Franco Belge

Hello All -

Jeff from Maine and brand new to the forum. Hoping to find someone who has a upper and lower hopper for a Franco Belge 144.08.02. The part numbers are 304909 (upper hopper) and 305404 (lower hopper). I know Woodman's has them if I have to buy new, just trying my luck to see if I can find a nice used set first. If anyone has any leads, I'd really appreciate it!!

The lower hopper I have. The upper appears to have a different number. If you measure your upper I can compare measurements. Also look at the number cast into the plate.

franco b- The upper hopper is 19-3/8" x 8-3/4".

This is the part from Woodmans site - Their dimensions differ a bit. I suspect their height dimension includes the half-round tabs.

The upper hopper I have is 19 1/4 by 8 1/2 measured over the tabs. Yours seems to be higher.

I don't think it makes a difference since the plate rests against the inside front of the stove.

The better way to run these stoves is with the hopper placed on top of the supports rather than in the top notch. This makes for a deeper bed and longer tending times and nut coal can be burned if desired. To use pea in this hopper position it is necessary to place something across the front of the fire box to prevent coal from spilling over. I use a piece of solid steel 3/4 inch square.

Your old upper hopper may prevent you from doing this. The lower hopper I have is identical to yours.
