Closest I could get was that the K-4, when it was in production, was at 40 gallons capacity and weighed 750 lbs. plus 65 lbs. for jackets.

And one up in size, the K-6, was at 55 gallon capacity and weighed 950 lbs. plus 75 lbs. for jackets.

All 3 boilers have 6 steel plate sides, so vessel weight doesn't go in half when volume goes in half, and so forth.

The 24 gallon Kaa-2 is 1/2" less in width, 7" less in length and 11-1/2" less in height than the 40 gallon K-4 that weighs 750 lbs. :)

So...the Kaa-2 at 24 gallons volume...I would guess...around 500 lbs. give or take. :?: :?: :?:

I still would welcome someone who knows the specs. to weigh in. (no pun intended) ;)

740 lbs comes to mind. Obviously the stoker, jackets , doors all come off.
What does the weight have to do with the price of tea in China?

Are you gonna set up a pair of them and use them for 'Olympic Clean and Jerk' practice?

Since I have one, I thought I should have the answer.I looked thru all of the literature from the beginning including correspondence with the factory and determined that I drew a blank. The only thing I remember is that I used the tractor with a boom pole to lower it down the outside stairway and an engine crane to lift it on top of the blocks without any effort whatsoever.Whenever I go to the salvage yard to buy steel for the odd project I always underestimate the weight of whatever I get so I will not guess at a KAA2. I know somebody knows this answer and we will find it. Mike

O.K.This is from the horses mouth [keystoker].The shipping weight on a KAA2 is 700 pounds. The weight of the boiler including the stoker, hopper, controls, and vessel is between 550 and 600 pounds. That's what was told to me by the man that builds them. Mike

Thanks to all who took the time to post and those who even scoured their sources to try and find the weight of a KAA-2. :D

The reason for the question was because I was to be headed out soon to remove what I guessed was going to be a KAA-2.
It wasn't...it turned out to be a KA-6. And I DID know that the stripped boiler we were about to move did weighed 950 lbs. :o
With some good helpers and some fancy rigging we did manage to move it from it's location in a basement up a set of stairs and outside onto a trailer.
Moving up the stairs there was ZERO clearance for head room and maybe 6" on each side...even less at the doorway. There was no space for planks or rollers coming up the stairs, it was literally drug up on the bare steps.

My Axeman will be staying right where it is, so I'll need to find a home for the Keystoker.
