Valuable lesson: NEVER argue politics online while in the process of reloading your handfired! I knew I was forgetting something ....

Stove 850° ... pipe 850° ... boiler water TURNED TO STEAM! :o

OOPS!

Breakdown of events:

Recorded at 8x normal. First, I dove headlong into the steam & fire to close the ash door. Then raced to the indirect boiler to set the DHW temp to 150°, then raced upstairs to turn the T-stat to 80° - you can see this made a difference in the amount of steam and water blasting from the overflow pipe. Off camera I piled coal on the fire to remove the nuclear heat from the coils.

All is well. As you were. :funny:

Like my exspresso a bit more on the tepid side...please!! I'm sure that put some fire into that conversation. Thats one thing I do worry about leaving ash door open, so before I leave the house for ANYTHING.... I check, and check again that ash doors closed. Been thinking about a microswitch on ash door, wired to a light in LR , so if its open light will be on.

I was wondering why the EPA was going crazy last night. Said they saw a huge carbon footprint from around Smitty's place. The government was going to go on the offensive. But then, as quickly as the huge carbon footprint appeared it disappeared and they couldn't find it again. They then blamed China's military for hacking their wind farms.

Hey Smitty didn’t you work for Carnival cruise lines recently? Were you an engine man or something like that? What role did alcohol play in this?
