USPS says "NO MORE PARCEL POST"!

USPS says "NO MORE PARCEL POST"!

Just an FYI... the post office will not advertise or tell you that they still have the same media rate mail (1/3 the price of first class), so make sure for anything media related (IE: books, magazines, music, movie's, school stuff, etc.) you tell them its media before they "ring you in". :P

Parcel Post sucked anyway. Cost too much, AND took to long to get there. Half the time Priority was cheaper. No wonder they're dropping it.

Some places are PICKY on what is considered "media". My buddy got hassled at his P.O. for trying to ship a service manual for a car -- the guy at the post office insisted that was NOT considered "media". I say bullshit - if it's got words on paper, it's MEDIA. ;)

Media mail is basically for Libraries and Educational establishments so they can transfer material between themselves at an affordable cost.

To send something via media mail the material sent must be educational media. It can not contain advertising, video games, computer drives, or digital drives of any kind.

Anyway PARCEL POST is being replaced by a new service called Parcel Select®. Most likely just a new name. Same service.
