It would be awesome if there were a way to configure exactly those two values with my boiler, but it looks like the only temperature control device I have is a mechanical sensor that raises and lowers a damper flapper.

When I get home I will try adding a few links to the chain to attempt to put some space between the high temperature and the dump zone temp.

It is a mechanical kind, and there is a knob on the top of it which allows adjustment of the arm around an inch or so. This knob was already at the end of its adjustment towards the cooler end. I added about an inch worth of chain, and adjusted the knob to raise it a bit, giving me a net of about a half inch of additional chain length.

Continuing to monitor, the boiler temperature is still over 200, but I imagine it will take quite some time to gravitate down to a cooler temperature since I fired right before I adjusted the chain, and all 3 zones were calling for heat at the time.

After a few days, I'm thinking adjusting the length of the chain on the damper flap has fixed my problem, I haven't had really noisy pipes filled with steam, and my boiler temperature has been hanging right around 180.
