The EPA just won't let this one go ... like most things that affect our quality of life.

We all know what 15% ethanol content in our fuel will do to our bikes, older cars, and lawn equipment. Lets sign this bill to make sure the EPA can figure that out as well:

I had to give my name, address, etc.... but worth the effort. What a mess if this E15 crap hits the streets.

Our local Hess station already has 15% at the pump. But it is marked as "E-10, 10% Ethenal", but tested locally at 15%.
It is overheating 2 cycle engines, to the point they blow up.
My Logger customer had to put in a new tank at his shop, and fill it with ethanel-free. Not cheap stuff.
In the meantime, he has a dozen saws in his shop and in mine, waiting to receive new top ends.

Also, the ethenal is 'melting' the plastic gas cans. More like dissolving it slowly. It clogs the fuel filters.
Use steel cans from now on.

Up here I was finding 18%-20% at Hess, according to my scan tool on my flex-fuel Silverado. I checked after noticing a decrease in power and poor mileage. Further checks revealed they alternate the amounts like the wind. My guess is they all do this on purpose in collusion with the state government (at least up here). Less MPG's means more fuel tax in their pocket, plus kickbacks from ethanol producers.

When I was tuning my RD after the build, I was AMAZED at how BIG I had to go with the jetting. Seemed like 3x BIGGER than stock - that's 3x MORE fuel flowing than in the 70's. Crazy ... :|

I respond to so many bills that my info just autotypes when I visit that site. The government has or can get all that anyway, so I'm not concerned. Definitely worth the effort. ;)

Thanks for supporting the cause, Freddy! 8-)

Funny how they don't call it gasohol like they used to. It got a bad rap back then so they decided to change the name to E10.

I sent it to my congressman as well.

Last weekend we had to replace the fuel line on my brother's snowmobile as the line that goes from the tank inlet into the tank separated due to this ethanol crap. This is the 3rd sled that he has had to do this to in the past year.

And I know all to well what this ethanol has been doing to the marine iundustry.

Plus the demand for this ethanol has driven up the cost of corn that is used in the farming and MOONSHINE industries. :shots:

I don't think it's the actual ethanol that eats the steel, but the HUGE amounts of water it absorbs from the air, which then sinks to the bottom of the tank. That's the same as having metal constantly wet. It rusts pretty good after a few weeks of that.

Then, when it sucks up enough moisture, it separates, leaving a yellow liquid resembling piss. Does wonders for engines AND tanks.

You & me both! I ran out of a roll of stamps in record time this month. Glad we hit Staples last year for the case of 1,000 envelopes!
