Federal Emplyee's forced to pay/time cuts

OK, I gotta clean up my post a little--I am not referring to our fighting men & women specifically. I remember when nephews were in Iraq & having to replace their own--for example--body armor--that started yrs ago--what I am referring to is--persay--maintenance of what we do have, not doing over kill with our defense needs--we were getting fked as far as equipment availability way back in the Nam days--this is not a new situation so don't beat a dead horse. We do not need to be nor should we be the worlds peace keepers--let the A-holes kill each other off--THAT might get some of the pussies (EPA--the green sissy's) to open their eyes & take advantage of our own resources.

Boy does this whole deal get me PISSED!!

Think about this for a minute: they're cutting our military at the WORST possible time in HISTORY, as NoSmoke pointed out .... yet they continue to fund Planned Parenthood, PBS Broadcasting, & putting shrimp on a treadmill for "research" ... ?????

People should be in the streets over this!!

I agree with Theo 100% too - the part about them laughing and joking. You can tell by their demeanor that things for them could never be better. Every State of the Union address, they all laugh, joke, shake hands, and smile while the rest of us toil for scraps. I'd like to punch them all in the face!! They're supposed to be working for US - not the other way around ...

If we dug out ALL the funds used by individual states & their Rep's/Senetors and mythoidically cut all the BS spending these guys "backpack" on every single one of the votes they cast (in order to get them to agree to cast their vote one way or the other) we could make some impacts on the debt over time ("shrimp on freeekin' treadmills"...wtf is that ...I never approved no stinkin' shimp on threadmills in order for some scientists somplace to get millions in grants ), and we are paying some private company to make millions of toilet seats at a cost of $480 per seat why cant they just to Home Depot and buy a $14.00 toilet seat like the rest of us????

I'm listening to the news & they are talking about possible forced lay offs & the statement that pissed me off was---yes, possibly even in the White House which is real bad for all the work-aholics there--give me a fkin break--them people wouldn't know work if it came up & bitch slapped them

If me going to school bothers you, maybe it's time you suck it up.

Never mind the fact that my former employer paid the taxes so in the event they laid me off, there would be a fund to draw money from.

If that doesn't do it for you, please take into account my work history from my mid teens until today and think about all the taxes I paid.

It is what it is Freddy. I wish the situation was different but it's not my fault it got that way.

Maybe you think it's your fault. Time to suck it up I guess.

But, for the record, I'm down to my last semester that is paid for out of my pocket. I can't help it that the government requires that I go to school for 170 hours before I take a test to work on oil burners to then take a test to get a license. And then I have to do it all over to work on gas burners. And then do it again to work on propane burners.

Not to mention the hours to work on air conditioning and the 2000 hours I have to work before I can get that license.

And I have to work close to 10,000 hours before I can test to be a "master" at which point, the government will "allow" me to open my own business and then they can REALLY start taxing me. And that's 10,000 hours for each thing and I can't work on them concurrently.

There again, is it the state, local Gov. or a combo of all including to school perhaps all milking the Fed? As with everything from state things are different but my son got all of his certifications in Pa. going part time & it took less than two years & he could work in W.V. & Ohio to boot just by paying a license fee of some sort.

Strictly technically speaking, you can't legally hook up your lawn sprinkler without calling a master plumber because "water fixtures" require one. Not surprisingly, the board is made up of master plumbers.

I can go to NH today with just my two EPA cards and my NORA(nat'l oil org.) cards and open my own business. The only thing NH requires a license for is gas because some fool blew up a house and killed someone. I guess I can understand that.

That almost sounds like the UK. In the UK they have began suing individuals and companies that advertise that "water hydrates you", since by making that claim they are practicing medicine without a license.

We are half a step behind them. But now we are trending way off topic...
